Player Information for Fall 2026
U6-U9
The U6-U9 program is for players between 5 and 8 years old on August 1. Players at this level are assigned to small teams and compete in a South Seattle league that includes RVSC, Beacon Hill, Capitol Hill, and McGilvra. Teams typically practice twice per week, and play games at a local field on Saturdays or Sundays. We use modified rules for small-sided soccer to maximize playing time and touches on the ball.

U10-U19
The U10-U19 program is for players between 9 & 19 years old on August 1. Teams in the program between U10 -U16 compete city-wide with other SYSA clubs. U17—U19 will compete in League Washington which has an expanded set of teams including SYSA and surrounding area clubs to ensure a competitive number of teams. Practices are typically twice per week, and games are on Saturdays or Sundays at fields throughout the city. The league runs from the beginning of September to late November, with U11 and older teams eligible to take part in the City Tournament in November-December.

Washington Youth Soccer (WYS) has changed the age group formation for players beginning with the 2026 Fall Season. Age groupings begin on Aug. 1. For more information about this statewide change, please see the WYS Age Group Formation page.
Discounts
Rainier Valley Soccer offers a number of ways to make the soccer season a little easier on the family budget.
Early registration discount $15
A $15 discount will be automatically applied to registrations completed prior to June 30, 2025.
Sibling discount $15
A $15 discount will be applied automatically to each sibling’s registration after the family’s first player is registered. This discount is in addition to any early registration discount.
Need-based scholarships
The club believes that soccer should be accessible to all families regardless of circumstances. We are pleased to be able to offer scholarships to families that require assistance. We will not be using a coupon code system this season. Rather, families can request financial assistance at time of registration by selecting that option instead of a payment type when registering players. Requests will be reviewed within a week and you will be notified of the result.

Interest-free payments
An option is available during registration to request that payments be made in three installments. Take advantage of this free option to spread out the costs over time: at checkout select Payment Plan from the drop-down menu, choose your Payment Method, and select “3 Installments” from Select Payment Plan Schedule.
Registration guidelines
Returning players will be assigned to their existing teams from the previous fall season.
There are two exceptions to this general guideline:
When a parent requests their player not return to the previous team.
When it is necessary for the club to transfer players to provide an opportunity for all players to have a team.
New players are not able to select their team, and coaches are not able to select players for their teams (except that coaches’ children will be placed on the same team as the coach).
Returning players must register before June 30 for priority placement on their previous fall season team.
Players registering before the July 15 deadline have priority for placement on teams over late registrants, even if the former is a new player and the latter is a returning player. All team assignments are made at the sole discretion of the Registrar. Any disputes will be resolved by the club’s Registrar, President, and SYSA Commissioner.
Spring Registration is closed for 2025
Spring Season is an 8 week season beginning in April, and is run and organized by SYSA. Teams play 8 small sided games on Sundays beginning in April.
